Professional Certificate in Whole System Change
ChangeAbility is collaborating with Dr Steven Cady from Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in Ohio, USA to design and deliver a range of Professional Certificate courses in Whole System Change accredited by BGSU. The first “white belt” Professional Certificate was piloted in May 2010 in Johannesburg. ChangeAbility has the licence to market and deliver these courses in Africa and other areas.
The overall purpose of these courses is to provide training to organisational change initiators by enabling the competent facilitation of transformational change in groups of people, organisations, and communities thereby allowing the vision and realisation of an improved future together.
The purpose of the first “white belt” Professional Certificate is to enable participants to (confidently and capably) design, lead and facilitate groups in productive 90 minute to 3 hour collaborative meetings. The outcomes of this training are as follows:
Graduates will:
- Understand key theories, language, andGraduates will:
- Understand key theories, language, and history of Whole System Change.
- See the patterns underlying the methods and tools.
- Knowledgably discuss whole system engagement as part of an emergent field.
- Describe the practical uses and benefits of these methods and tools.
- Advance a base level of competence in designing short duration events (one day
or less).
- Develop self as instrument – as a change agent in large complex organizations
and communities.
- Apply the basic tools for designing, facilitating, and leading whole system
change events.
